Young athletes still having an Ace time

-

TRAINING hard and settling into the track and field season was something members of Ace AC were looking forward to before they were forced to close the doors and halt all training sessions.

In an effort to keep in touch with their juveniles, as well as encourage them to stay active, the coaches and committee have used technology to remain in close contact, sending them regular training sessions and advising them to keep up the hard work that they are all so used to.

During every session the athletes have sent photos of themselves working hard, which are then posted throughout their social media platforms. The idea is to inspire others to do the same and hopefully spread some positive vibes rather than the doom and gloom people are getting used to seeing on Facebook these days.

In fact, the Robertson family went the extra mile to make a short movie of both Nathan and Alex training hard in their back garden while wearing masks. In the unlikely event of the boys giving up running, a career in Hollywood may not be off the table!

Although it is not as easy to put in a tough training session when you are not surrounded by close friends and teammates or reassured by their coaches, elite athletes such as Shea O’Donnell with his little sister Kate, Sholah Lawrence with her brother Tayo and Anna Faulkner with her little sisters Lauren and Niamh are just a few of those who continue to train hard every other day, be it on the side of their road or in the field behind their house.

Ace have received many photos and videos of their kids training hard, all of whom are doing a superb job keeping up their strength and fitness. Rumour has it some have been ‘cracking the whip’ on their parents to make sure even the adults keep fit and healthy too!
