Drugs seized at Riverbank
GARDAÍ in Drogheda have arrested and charged a man in connection with the seizure of approximately €7,800 of suspected cocaine and cannabis herb.
Gardaí attached to the Drogheda Drug Unit carried out a search of a house at Riverbank in Drogheda shortly before 3.30pm on Tuesday April 21.
During the course of the intelligence led operation Gardaí located and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis herb, which is estimated to be worth approximately €7,800.
A man in his mid-20s was arrested and detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
This man was subsequently charged in connection with this incident and is due to appear the courts at a later date.
Gardaí also seized approximately €94,000 worth of Cannabis,
€15,500 in cash and arrested 5 persons following a number of search operations carried out in the Monaghan and Louth areas on April 22.
A car was stopped by Gardaí in the Cloughvalley Upper area of Carrickmackross at approximately 2:30pm. Two male occupants of the car aged in their 20s and 30s were found to be in possession of €15,500 cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime. The cash was seized and follow up searches were conducted at two residential premises in Drogheda. Cannabis plants with an estimated combined value of €30,000 were seized at these premises.
Additional searches were carried out at a residential premises in the Collon area. Cannabis plants with an estimated value of €64,000 were seized.
