Shane Loughran scored twice as Grove notched six in Ihis tussle with Boync. Peter Brennan was also on the mark early on and that set up a comfortabl­e win with Robbie Carr, Thomas Doherly and Shane Campbell also on target. Darran Fagan pulled one back for the losers. Fintan Kelly, Derek Thornton, Colm Kierans, Ged Culligan, Paddy O’Brien and J.P’O’Boyle were also in fine form for the victors with Garclh Byrne, Anthony Donaghey and Ged Black pick of the Boyne side.

Ronan Philips converted two penalties for Mellifont to give them the lead over Grove but Celtic came back with some excellent finishing lo pick up another two precious points.

Peter Brcnnan’s free kick after 10 minutes did put the winners in front, only for Mcllifont to come back but in the end Brennan. Joe Brady, Shane Loughran and Thomas Doherty proved too strong. Culligan. Thornton and Briscoe also impressed

As in many local derby matches, this was a keenly contested draw.Andrcw Farrell put Celtic ahead after 10 minutes but Rangers came back almost immediatel­y when Darren Keegan’s shot completely deceived keeper Anthony Dunne.

Defences dominated affairs in thc second half with Brendan Gregory. Cathal Callaghan, Stephen Harrison and Brian Maguire best for Rangers with Craig Cunningham, Martin Fitzpatric­k, Killian Brennan and Declan Geraghty showing up well for Celtic.
