Given the times that we are now enduring, please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences and ideas on how you are coping or helping others to cope, through these most surreal, life changing times. Ok, we are all social media junkies at the moment, but the printed word, for posterity, will be a much better reference point when, please God, we are all trying to make sense of this time, in the years to come.

Below are some pieces that came to my mind, but your contribution, on how this epidemic is effecting your lives in Monasterboice would be most welcome.. We’ll keep them anonymous unless otherwise requested. Paddy Holdcroft on 0862039501 or paddyholdcroft @gmail.com., Keep up the good work, safely.

PARISH NOTES FROM FR PADDY...

Trocaire have asked people to donate online instead of sending in boxes (no parish is going to be able to take them/count them for a couple of months, I suspect). See Trocaire.org for info.

Understandably people are probably facing all kinds of financial hardship - so while our parish is not encouraging any ‘giving’ at this time, many people have asked about how to give...

So, out BIC & IBAN is published on the bulletin (available in both churches and Mulroy’s shop and Tenure stores), if people want to donate online (use either name or bulletin number as reference).

Also Armagh Archdiocese has set up an online system for all parishes - at Diocesan Level - detail will be in this week’s bulletin and posted on Social media in coming weeks!

Mass will be broadcast each Saturday night at 630pm from Fieldstown Church, and night prayer at 10om on the Parish Facebook Page!

Fr. Paddy & Parish Pastoral Council send best wishes to all parishioners - and if anyone needs anything, do get in touch (you can publish my mobile, and the parish email is monasterboiceparish2018@

JP TOP OF THE PILE.

As there isn’t any sport currently happening, all sport media outfits are taking so many trips down memory lanes that they are in danger of getting on the wrong side of An Garda Siochana, due to the 2k rule. It’s become a bit of a “Reeling in the years” on steroids.

However there is one particular genre that interests me, ie asking gaa footballers, past and present, to name their best Louth teams. What enhances my interest is, in all I’ve read so far, our own JP Rooney was an ever present on every team sheet. Gosh, our gang may not have many trophies, but they do have taste.

MULLARY CEMETERY LOTTO.

April 18th. Winning no was 17. Winner was Ken Divine
