For ingenuity Boyne are poles apart

-

WHILE club training may be temporarily on hold for now, the young members of Boyne AC have been training hard at home and coming up with a variety of ways to keep fit - and have fun!

Isabelle and her cousin Daragh are making great use of the lane and fields around their homes, with plenty of hill sprints and trail runs thrown into the mix. They also made use of their horses sand area and jumps to practise their own jumping skills, so watch out for those two young ladies when competitions resume!

Also working hard, sisters Hanelle and Hila enjoyed the glorious sunshine as they worked out in their back garden. With their ever-present smiles and positive attitude, the girls are really looking forward to getting back to the track.

Ally Fennell was lucky to have the beach within her 5k radius as she took to the sand for her sessions, keeping up her endurance training, which will no doubt pay dividends when the cross-country season returns.

Coach Andrew White certainly doesn’t take a break, as he has maintained his own rigorous training regime within the confines of lockdown, while also finding time to make sure his two sons, Ruadhan and Rasmus, keep up their own training as they took to the back garden for some fun workouts.

Young Sarah-Anne is also making sure she stays fit as she mixes skipping and other dynamic exercises into her training sessions, all under the watchful eye of her mum, Boyne AC senior member Yvonne, who is also making sure she is clocking up the miles each week.

With lockdown restrictions easing somewhat now, the Boyne AC seniors are resuming their training sessions in line with AAI guidance, and it is hoped to resume training for other age groups over the coming weeks as the Government roadmap develops.
