THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.

Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded.

CLOGHERHEAD LOCKDOWN.

We are slowly coming out of lockdown which is marvellous providing we don’t go crazy doing stupid things ahead of time. After being in house this past few months any little freedom can go the wrong way without the proper guidance. So, please continue to wear a face mask when out shopping.

Walking, or any other activity outside the home. Gloves can be important too but not necessary as you can wash and sanitise your hands when you reach home. Try not to touch your mask when it’s on your face and NEVER allow anyone else to use it.

HELP FROM THE DREADNOTS.

The Dreadnots Players and committee, management and staff of Gareth’s Family Butchers and Corr’s Pharmacy are also there to help you with your shopping and any other things you may need. Simply phone Ann on 087 7757007 and she will take it from there. In these times of keeping your distances it is very important to have the likes of these people out there to give a little help where needed.

WELL DONE TO YOU ALL.

Congratulations to all who are doing their best to keep Clogherhead tidy, with flowers blooming all over the place no litter and all work done voluntarily. If you would like to help in any way just call Grainne and she will direct you to where you are needed. The new planters around the village are just beautiful. Thank you.

CUL CAMPS FOR CHILDREN.

These camps have been very successful over the past number of years with children off all ages who enjoy anything to do with sports. It was the intention to run one this year but the pandemic put paid to that. However, the organisers are doing their best to run again this and are just waiting on word from the GAA to continue. Hopefully it will continue in August, keep your fingers crossed.

DREADNOTS BINGO IS BACK.

On Monday night, 29th June it is the intention of the Dreadnots Committee to run a “Drive in Bingo” in their grounds at Ganderstown, Clogherhead. Gates open at 6.30 pm and the 1st game will be at 7.30p.m. Guaranteed jackpot €1000. So, come early and avoid the rush, there are toilets and handwashing and sanitising equipment for your use. See you all there.

AFTERNOON FOR BINGO?

Another idea to keep at a safe distance id “Garden Bingo” where neighbours gather in their own garden and others can come and sit outside their walls. Just bring you chair; markers and light refreshments and the rest will fall into place. It is just an hour and a half to help you relax and put the Covid 19 behind you for a short time.

LIFEBOAT STILL ON DUTY.

Abiding by government advice, the Lifeboat Station is out of bounds to everyone. But, should the Lifeboat be needed for an emergency it will be launched in the usual way. There is no training for crew members at present but they already know the drill of by heart. So, that is one thing we can be sure off. As you all know, the Lifeboat need funds to keep it going and with the Covid 19 there are rules that don’t allow any fundraising. So, if you would like to donate to it you can do so by going Online, give locally or contact Padraig Rath on 087 678 4912 and he will direct and advise you what to do. Thank you.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY.

Many congratulations to Michael & Kathleen Levins, O’Donnell Park who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday last. Lots of love from Lisa, Ethan, Jason, Carmel and Bobby as well as both family members your neighbours and friends. xxxxx
