Stadium house draw rescheduled for Easter Sunday

-

LOUTH County Board has announced a new date for its big ‘Double House Draw’ fundraiser, which was postponed during COVID-19 lockdown.

The draw for two houses in Blackrock and Termonfeckin was launched to raise funds for Louth’s proposed new stadium in Dundalk and ticket sales had been going well prior to pandemic.

The organising committee had been on the home stretch for a 16 May draw date when coronavirus hit in midMarch and a swift decision was taken to postpone it until a later date.

Last week, the committee settled on Easter Sunday 2021 for the new draw date, which falls on 4 April.

Commenting on the decision in a statement, the organisers noted:

‘This we feel is of vital importance so as to give clarity to all those who have purchased tickets and for those still looking to purchase.

‘Secondly, we have decided that we will have an official launch to get it up and running again but this has been put on hold for the minute until COVID restrictions are eased.

‘It will be on hold until such a time when face to face sales can start again and when we can get sellers together to discuss a plan going forward.

‘For the moment ticket sales can take place online through www.pickahouse.ie and we will be announcing promotions in due course.’

The committee had planned to run a mini draw for €5,000 for all entrants who purchased their tickets before the end of March, so similar promotions could be announced in the coming weeks.
