Locals said the Rosary on way to work in Dublin

January 1957

A MAN whose short holiday in Drogheda left him with many pleasant memories, has written us.

His greatest impression is worth quoting:

He writes : “Having boarded the 7.55 a.m.- train for Dublin, I found myself in a compartment with six or seven natives of your city on their way to work in Dublin.

‘As soon as the journey commenced, beads were produced and the Rosary was recited. This, I believe, is their daily practice, but what a wonderful way to begin their day.

Our correspondent, A Student from Kllrush, Co. Clare, goes on to talk about the blessings these people bring with them to their work and adds: “Perhaps this letter may encourage others to follow their great example.”
