Without any earlier acquaintanceship of the man, Mr. Edward (“Call me Ed”) Licht, U.S.-born Managing Director of the impressive Westinghouse Switch- Controls factory at Ardee Road, Dunleer, might easily be mistaken for a physical education instructor, or maybe coach/trainer of an American football or baseball team.

The much-travelled Ed — he has held a variety of important assignments for the huge Westinghouse Corporation in places as widely separated as South America, Spain and the States, before coming to Ireland — has the lithesome figure and appearance of one half his years, and is determined that traditional Irish hospitality isn’t going to change him.
