MASS

From yesterday, Monday June 29th, daily Mass at 10 a.m has resumed subject to social distancing restrictions and this Saturday and Sunday July 4th/ 5th people are invited to attend Masses in Dunleer and Dromin. Saint Kevin’s will not open just yet because of the social distancing requirements.

Dunleer and Dromin churches are already open each day for private prayer. The churches have been equipped with hand sanitising points at entry and with wipes for cleaning down the pews on entering and/or leaving. There are also stickers indicating the spacing that is required for public safety.

Those who choose to attend are asked to follow the HSE guidelines and to practice common courtesy and discretion. Numbers will be restricted so the elderly or the vulnerable are encouraged to attend weekday Mass in place of Sunday for the time being or remain at home for the present.

The livestreaming of Mass will continue for those who choose to view Mass at home https://youtu. be/SeaZ38SZrBs.

Baptisms have also resumed every Sunday for the moment at the usual time with limited numbers. The remaining parish patruns are, just now, unlikely to go ahead but the Parish council will monitor the situation as it evolves.

At Mass Fr. Murtagh has said there will be no public singing and they will distribute communion silently. Those who receive on the tongue are asked to come up last and to Fr Murtagh please. Parishioners are also asked to go up for communion slowly, allowing for space and to leave the church in a leisurely way too, so that people are not brushing by each other unnecessarily.

Please allow the collectors to handle the basket. Do not take it from their hands or pass it around. The Parochial council have thanked all for their generosity and cooperation in the meantime. Fr. Murtagh has thanked those who have been dropping in their envelopes to his house. Donation options also available on Dunleerparish.ie website.
