Seapoint first port of call for Scratch series

WELL-KNOWN names such as Gavin Moynihan, Leona Maguire and Olivia Mehaffey are headlining a strong field for the inaugural Flogas Irish Scratch Series, which was due to begin at Seapoint yesterday and continues at the same venue next Monday.

The main purpose of the event is to give male and female golfers (both amateur and professional) a chance to play some competitive golf on a weekly basis.

The event will take place each Monday, with a maximum field size of 100 players, and will be moved around the country over the coming weeks.

The total prize fund for each event will be a minimum of €1,000, with €500 going to the winner. There will also be an extra Order of Merit prize for the person with the top five gross scores during the series.

All players will be provided on the day with details of the Covid-19 guidelines for competitions, which have been outlined by the GUI and ILGU.
