STAMULLEN-BASED race trainer John McConnell won the opening division of the 10-furlong handicap with 22/1 chance Ally Cay at the meeting in Roscommon last week.

Ridden by Shane Foley, the Thomas Healy-owned four-yearold kicked clear inside the final furlong to win by a cosy two and three-parts of a length from 7/2 joint-favourite Overheer in a race where five of the first six places were filled by County Meath-trained horses.
