No complaints as ACE back on track

-

IT may have been the wettest and windiest Saturday morning in months, but not one ACE athlete complained as the club returned to training last week.

Restrictions being lifted further on June 29th saw full training resume for every age group and another tough session was held in Oldbridge estate – weather a little kinder for the occasion! Although these athletes had been apart for the last three and a half months they had been keeping up with their training plans thanks to coaches representative Liam Cooney who had been supporting and encouraging from a distance by sending training plans every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings during lockdown.

Thursday saw the entire group back at the Lourdes stadium track for the first time in a while and although it was a very tough session for all involved, they made it look like they had never been away!

Although competitions are due to resume on a very limited basis, the Ace athletes are working hard to maintain top form.

All this coincides with the Ace Athletics website going live this past weekend which is another milestone for the club and a very exciting time.

Strict guidelines are in place for all athletics clubs to ensure health and safety of every athlete and with newly appointed Covid officer Judith Faulkner the entire Ace group is in very safe hands

Training resume as normal on Tuesdays form 7-8pm in St Oliver’s School, Thursday’s from 6-7pm in the Lourdes Stadium and Saturday mornings from 10-11:30 in Oldbridge estate.
