Council register to vote online

THE world has gone online and virtual in the last three months, and now Louth County Council has followed suit. Anybody in County Louth who wants to register to vote, can now do it using the online portal on the Louth County Council website, www.louthcoco.ie.

‘Louth County Council is continuing to come up with new ways for our citizens to access the many services provided by the Council while adhering to national guidelines to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19,’ said Ms. Joan Martin, Chief Executive of Louth County Council. ‘ One of the most fundamenta­l services we provide is the ability to vote by being included on the Register of Electors and I am particular­ly pleased with this initiative.’

The voters register for 2021/22 is currently being prepared and unlike previous years there will only be limited door to door enquiries made. The new online applicatio­n enables everyone to make sure they can get their informatio­n to us any time day or night. Make sure to let us know if you have changed address or if you are want to vote for the first time. To be eligible to vote, you must

1. Be at least 18 years of age on the day the Register comes into force

2. You must be ordinarily resident in the State since the 1st September in the year preceding the coming force of the Register. To use this facility, please visit
