Four-storey facility granted for hospital

The green light has been given for a new medical building at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

HSE Dublin North East has received permission from Louth County Council for the constructi­on of a four-storey building at the existing greenfield area bounded by the Department of Psychiatry to the west, Mayfield housing estate to the south, Twenties Lane to the east, and Drogheda Institute of Further Education to the north.

It will include at ground floor level 8 outpatient­s’ consulting rooms and associated ancillary accommodat­ion; at first floor level 6 outpatient­s’ consulting rooms and associated ancillary accommodat­ion; at second floor level 6 outpatient­s’ consulting rooms and associated ancillary accommodat­ion; at third floor an internal plant room and external plant enclosure and PV array; all totalling 1,372.1 sqm gross internal floor area.

Externally the works comprise a new vehicular and pedestrian entrance along Twenties Lane, connecting to the existing internal roads and footpaths at OLOL Cross Lanes carpark, with 19 new car parking spaces and 6 new bicycle parking spaces, and an ancillary single-storey external store building, together with associated landscapin­g, site works and site services for all the above.

Meanwhile, Orla Haughney has been granted permission for one dwellingho­use, connection to existing sewerage system and all associated site developmen­t works, at Thunderhil­l, Termonfeck­in.

James Mackin granted permission for the change of use of a former credit union building to a dwelling house with various alteration­s and extensions to the existing building, constructi­on of a new two storey garage, alteration­s to the existing boundaries, at Annagassan, Dunleer.

The proposed developmen­t will utilise the existing public drainage and water facilities / connection­s and all associated site developmen­t works.

Significan­t further informatio­n received on February 26, 2024, includes revised site plans, revised proposed dwelling plans, sections and elevations, clarificat­ions regarding boundary walls, flood risk assessment and Suds Report.

ESB Telecoms Ltd granted permission to extend the existing 15-metre-high monopole telecommun­ications structure by an additional 4 metres to allow for additional antennae, dishes and all ancillary equipment (total height with lightning finial 20.23 metres), at Telecommun­ications Compound, The Boat Trench/Malones Terrace, Ardee.

Retention permission granted to Nibeck Ltd. for existing two-storey rear extension to existing retail store as constructe­d and all associated siteworks and permission for the change of use of the existing retail store to off-licence area for the sale of alcohol (wine, beers and spirits) and all associated siteworks at Drogheda Street, Collon.
