TULLYALLEN ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Our village was well and truly represented at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Drogheda. The Glen Emmets GFC were out in force with the children, players, mentors and parents and they graced the streets of Drogheda in a sea of Glen Emmets Green and Red. Our very own Tullyallen Active Retirement members were not afraid to show the younger ones how it was done when they too marched in the parade. Their message on the day was to highlight the litter problems we are now experiencing and they used litter that they had picked up around our village to make lots of homemade ‘snakes’ which turned out to be a fantastic display of their crafting talents (re-cycling galore) They hope to get the message across to everyone to keep our village litter free. The ‘Snake Charmers’ were ably led by Tullyallen’ s own St. Patrick who seemed to pop up on everyone’s photos throughout the day, he certainly was the most realistic St. Patrick in this year’s parade. While over in Slane the Tullyallen Macra had their float taking part in the annual Slane parade which as we all know is where it all began. Well, done to everyone who took part and went along to cheer on the Tullyallen folk. The weather stayed nice, and the spirits were high for what was a very successful and enjoyable day for everyone.
