We had a wonderful outing and a great turnout to Wexford GC last Saturday 18th June. The course was impeccable and greens hard to navigate. New member to the society Liam Redmond playing off a handicap of 10 had no problem in handling the greens coming in with a great score of 39 pts. The day was sponsored by Redmond Electric and we wish to thank them for supplying fantastic prizes. TIDY TOWNS NEWS

APPEAL FOR SHED OR LAND: The Tidy Towns committee are appealing once again for a premises or piece of ground that they could use in the vicinity of the village. if anyone would have a shed, room in a building etc, that we could use or a small piece of ground that we could place a shed on. The Committee are going to apply for some Tus workers in the near future and the criteria that applies is we need to be able to provide somewhere for the individual­s to get their lunch etc.

VOLUNTEERS APPEAL: As the longer evenings are here the committee have returned to Cleaning up every Tuesday and Thursday Evening at 7 p.m., We meet in the church car park if anyone is around that has spare time on their hands in the morning or evening we would really appreciate if they volunteer their time for the good of the community. TIDY TOWNS JUDGING: Judging in the National Tidy Towns commenced from June 1 we are appealing for all buildings and fences to be painted premises to be litter and cigarette butt free, grass verges to be clean, hedges and grass to be kept cut on a regular basis. we are asking that all premises owners keep outside their premises litter and cigarette butt free and we appeal that they sweep outside their premises twice daily to obtain this. We have already met with all business people in the area and we are seeking your full support for 2016. as we are a very small committee it is not possible for us to reach on everything.

Remember it is your village too. Together we can make a difference So get your hands dirty and help your local Tidy Towns. We have set the standard with your support we can keep it going and hopefully gain a few extra point in both competitio­ns.

SENIOR CITIZENS OUTING

The Ballygarre­tt 14 Club annual outing takes place on Tuesday, July 12, leaving Ballygarre­tt at 10.30 a.m., travelling to the Hook Head lighthouse, Tintern Abbey, and Loftus Hall with a break for tea in Fethard on Sea. Then on to Meadows and Byrne for shopping. Returning to Sean Óg’s Upton Court for dinner at 7 p.m. Cost of the whole day is €25. Anyone not taking part in the tour but would like to join us for dinner, the cost is €15. Contact Bridie Casey at 053 9427427.

GAA BLOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s Réalt na Mara Bal- lygarrett GAA Club blotto draw. The numbers picked were: 7, 18, 19, 27. The €20 lucky dip winners were: Michael and Marie Gregg; Órla Dunbar; The Sugrues; Lisa, Marion and Sean O’Brien; Sean O’Brien (adults). The five free tickets winner was Eddie Harris. This week’s jackpot rose to €6,100.

BRIDGE CLUBS

Bridge is played on Thursday Mornings commencing at 10 a.m. sharp. You do not need a partner on a Thursday morning as we are using the Joker system. All players are very welcome to come along.

Kilmuckrid­ge Bridge Club play their Bridge Game on a Monday night in Seán Óg’s Hotel. You need to have your own partner to play in this Club. Bridge commences at 7 p.m.
