THURSDAY, JUNE 30 KING LEAR AT THE LIBRARY
To mark Shakespeare 400, and to let all local Shakespeare enthusiasts discuss the plays of the bard, you are invited to meet in Gorey Library on from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a viewing from the play ‘King Lear’ followed by a discussion. POLISH STORIES

DOG RACING NIGHT
Ballyroebuck National School host a charity fundraiser in Enniscorthy Greyhound Racing Tracat 8 p.m. to help with the cost of building on a school extension. RATHNURE SUMMER MUSICAL
‘Heavens Above!’ runs for seven nights July 1,3, 4, 6, 7, 9 and 10, starting 7.45 p.m. nightly. Call the Box Office now at 053 9255429 or 087 0687801. Plenty of laughs, tears, drama and great music. It’s the seventh original musical from Rathnure Panto Society.
SATURDAY, JULY 2 10K RUN, OYLEGATE
The Remember Emma Heffernan 10K Run starts at 4 p.m. at the GAA pitch in Oylegate, with registration from 2 p.m. Registration fee is €15 at runireland.com and on the day. All proceeds go to the Jack and Jill Foundation, in memory of baby Emma.
SUNDAY, JULY 3 KILMYSHALL FIELD DAY
The annual Kilmyshall Field Day gets under way at 2 p.m. There will be all the usual attractions: wheel of fortune, bottle stall, bric-a-brac, cake stall, barbecue, bouncing castle, plants and flowers, children’s races, duck race, and rickshaw rides, plus an art competition for school children.
TRACTOR RUN, GLYNN
The Glynn Tractor Run leaves the village at 1 p.m. Registration from midday to 1 p.m. Cost is €20 to enter the run.
BALLYFAD MEMORIAL RUN
The Jim Carton Memorial run takes place at 11 a.m. Registration from 10 a.m. in Ballyfad Hall. The event includes a five-mile road run and three mile walk into Ballyfad wood. €10 entry fee with children free. Prizes for first three males and first three females home. Proceeds go to charit and there are medals for all who finish. Refreshments afterwards.
BALLYMONEY CRAFT FAIR

Gorey Little Theatre Group’s July summer play, the darkly comic ‘Family Plot’ by Daragh Carville, runs at the theatre each Tuesday and Thursday at 8.30 p.m. through the month. Tickets are available at the door at €12 for adults and €6 for children and students.

CLOWN 5K RUN
The Giggles the Clown charity 5k family fun run and walk will take place on Sunday, July 10, from 10.30 a.m. leaving St Aidan’s Garden Centre, Gorey. Registration is €10 including a free red nose for the first 100 registered. The walk will be followed by a barbecue at the garden centre with music, fun, and craic.
