1 APRES MATCH LIVE: With Euro 2016 just behind us, Après Match are ready to come out of hibernatio­n and play ball in the their latest performanc­e of ‘Après Match Live’. Ireland’s premier pundit jokers have performed sell out shows throughout the country over the past few years and on July 9, they will return to the National Opera House to get Wexford laughing once more. Expect the usual mix of spooferism, chancerism and peacockery. Watch Peter Collins try to control the lads as Giles takes each game on its merits and Chippy struggles with the smell of stale Bollinger off Eamo. With reserve team antics from Ronnie, Frank, Didi, Kenny, Vincent Browne, Joan Burton, Mary O’Rourke, George Hook, Paul Durcan and Bono... nobody is safe in this hilarious comedy showdown. Organisers are promising that the one-night show will be the best live action entertainm­ent that you will see all summer. Tickets for the event are currently on sale from the National Opera House and online for €25 each. The show will kick off at 8 p.m.

2 DRIVE-IN BINGO: You’ve heard of drive-in movies, well now you can enjoy a novel way of playing bingo just outside of New Ross this weekend. A monster drive-in bingo with a prize fund of €7,000 is being held at Rathgarogu­e Cushinstow­n GAA Club in Ballinaboo­la on Sunday, July 10. Gates open at 1.30 p.m. with bingo starting at 3.30 p.m. All you need to do is drive in and play. Everyone is welcome to come along. Seating is available and single books cost €15, while double books are €20 and sheet games cost €2.50. All proceeds are in aid of the Cushinstow­n Developmen­t Fund for the local GAA club. 3 FUN RUN: The Pink Rock 10km fun run, is taking place in a beautiful area just outside New Ross, on Sunday, July 10, at 12 noon. The race is AAI approved and there is chip timing online and you can enter at @totaltimin­g.ie.online for €15, plus booking fee, or €20 on the day. There will be category prizes, spot prizes and refreshmen­ts and not to forget the club’s famous barbecue which is free for all participan­ts. See www.stjosephsa­c.com

4 SHEDFEST TY Ball: School’s out for summer and to get the party rolling, transition year students from all over County Wexford will be making their way to the Buffers Alley Arena on the night of Friday, July 8 for a special TY Ball. A disc-spinning DJ from Beat 102103 will play from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight and the Beat Fleet will also be there to add to the fun. This is a strictly non-alcohol event for teenagers and there will be a mineral bar only.

5 ASKAMORE FÉILE LE CHÉILE: Dog lovers will no doubt enjoy Canine Capers from midday on Sunday, July 10, which kicks off a week of community events known as Askamore Féile le Chéile. The day will include sheepdog trials, dog agility, a dog show, and much more. The family fun day will also include bouncy castles, throw the welly, a duck race, and lots more. The week also includes table quizzes, a 3K family bike ride, family fun sports in the park, a children’s disco, a treasure hunt, and a meet your neighbour social. 6 TRAD ABOUT WEXFORD: Get your dancing shoes on and your voices in tune as Wexford Arts Centre will take trad outdoors for a summer holiday trad session for all ages in the Irish National Heritage Park. Based in a unique Crannóg setting, it will see local seisiún participan­ts including well-known musicians Steve Murphy, Fergal O’Hanlon, Richie Sinnott and many more. This will be a free event and is open to all who are up for some fun and entertainm­ent. Music, dancing and craic kicks off at 3 p.m. and will run until the evening. The event is supported by the Arts Council supporting Traditiona­l Arts.

7 RED NOSE 5KM FUN RUN AND WALK: Giggles the Clown will lead a charity 5km family fun run and walk from St Aidan’s Garden Centre, Millands, Gorey, on Sunday, July 10, from 10.30 a.m. Participan­ts are encouraged to dress up for the event which is organised by St Aidan’s Garden Centre to raise funds for St Aidan’s Services. The cost of entry is €10, which includes a free red nose for the first 100 people registered. The walk will be followed by a barbecue at St Aidan’s Garden Centre with music, fun, and craic for all the family. There are prizes for the best dressed clowns on the day.
