The 10km Road Race organised by the St Joseph’s Athletic Club at the Pink Rock, outside New Ross, at midday. This is the fifth year of this event along the scenic route by the river Barrow. The film takes the audience on an extraordin­ary journey through the David Bowie exhibition with special guests including legendary Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto, Pulp front-man Jarvis Cocker, and other collaborat­ors, to explore the stories behind some of the key objects that document Bowie’s artistic career. André Rieu’s 2016 Maastricht concert will play in Movies@Gorey on Saturday, July 23, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 24, at 3 p.m.

Rieu’s legendary annual Maastricht concert is the most eagerly anticipate­d cinema event of the year, last year setting new box office records in several countries.

The concert is approximat­ely three hours, including a 15-minute intermissi­on. The satellite delivered concert is recorded several days prior to the cinema screening.

COURTOWN 4K SWIM

Courtown Surf Lifesaving Club’s sponsored swim from Courtown to Ballymoney to raise funds to send 18 youths over to the World Championsh­ips in Holland this September.

It starts at 11 a.m. from Courtown, and should take two-and-a-half hours to reach Ballymoney.
