As part of Iarnod Eireann 1916 commemoration programme in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy, there will be a special event to remember Michael O’Hanrahan after whom Wexford Station was renamed in 1966. The 10km Road Race organised by the St Joseph’s Athletic Club at the Pink Rock, outside New Ross, at midday. This is the fifth year of this event along the scenic route by the river Barrow. A stylish Dry-Fit tee shirt for all runners is included in the €15 (plus booking fee) online entry fee (€20 on the day) with free post-race refreshments back in the Rosbercon Parish Hall. DAVID BOWIE IS AN encore showing of ‘David Bow- ie Is’ will play in Movies@Gorey on Thursday, July 14, at 8 p.m. This documentary film of the ground-breaking David Bowie is about an exhibition created by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
The film takes the audience on an extraordinary journey through the David Bowie exhibition with special guests including legendary Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto, Pulp front-man Jarvis Cocker, and other collaborators, to explore the stories behind some of the key objects that document Bowie’s artistic career. Wexford Surf Lifesaving Club will be holding a Pig on a Spit Night at Gorey Rugby Club on Saturday July 16. There will be a DJ from 9.30 p.m. until late (over-16s only – children welcome until 9.30 p.m.).
Admission is €15 per adult and €5 for children. All money raised on the day will go towards sending the Wexford Water Safety and Surf Lifesaving team to the World Championships in Holland in September. GARDEN PARTY

Courtown Surf Lifesaving Club’s sponsored swim from Courtown to Ballymoney to raise funds to send 18 youths over to the World Championships in Holland this September.
