CORNER BOY LEAD TOP LOCAL LINE-UP AT SHEDFEST

-

Music fans from across the south east are expected to make their way to the seventh annual Shedfest in the Buffers Alley Arena on Saturday, July 9.

An exciting line-up of bands will showcase at the festival with Corner Boy (pictured) headlining for the second year in a row and intent on rocking the Shedfest with their distinctive blend of traditional instruments and contemporary musical themes.

Gorey’s 5 Dollar Shakes with indie, rock, pop, punk and dance influences are also bringing their infectious energy to the event.

In association with Beat 102103, the organisers ran a Battle of the Bands competition with over 20 bands entered and a shortlist of five going through to a public vote.

Fit For Kings, a five-piece rock/pop band from Wexford town topped the poll of almost 8,000 votes and will appear at the festival. A young band with a bright future, they have released a number of singles including Heartache, Love Ain’t Like the Movies and Paralysed.

Six-piece rock outfit Novella Hermosa fronted by Luke Cosgrave of Ballygarrett will complete the line-up. Luke’s electric violin promises to be one of highlights of the event.

Resident DJ Nigel Quaid will keep the floor filled with his mix of the latest chart toppers and classic hits.

Shedfest will have a dedicated taxi rank operating all night thanks to Mick Stamp Taxis and Bus Hire. There will be a late bar and the ticket price includes barbecue special served by Chef Kennedy until midnight.

Tickets cost €20 and are on sale at www.wexfordartscentre.ie; the Book Cafe, Gorey; Murt Walsh’s, Enniscorthy; Hammels, Kilmuckridge and club members.

Shedfest is strictly an over 18 event and ID will be required to gain entry.
