Neville golf classic
BANNOW-BALLYMITTY G.A.A. club are remembering one of their favourite sons, the late Pat Neville, with the latest hosting of the annual perpetual golf classic in his honour. The event will be staged in Wexford Golf Club on Friday, July 22.
Teams comprise four people and the competition format is scramble (one-tenth of combined handicap). Each team must have a minimum of one current G.U.I. member.
The maximum handicap allowances for non-G.U.I. members will be capped at 16 for men and 24 for women.
There are great prizes to be won for first, second and third along with individual longest drives and closest to the pin prizes.
First prize is the Pat Neville Perpetual Cup and a Cassidy Golf voucher to the value of €1,500. Second prize is two nights’ self-catering accommodation for four in Castlerosse Woodlands Cottages along with a round of golf for four at Beaufort Golf Club, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Third prize is four green fees for The European Club, Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow. Individual prizes: longest drive for front and back nines, €50 voucher for McGuirk’s Golf; nearest the pin for front and back nines, €50 voucher for McGuirk’s Golf. The entry fee for a four-person team (any combination) is €200.
