Two Tiernan shows and extra Christy date at Spiegeltent

-

ACE funnyman Tommy Tiernan is the latest addition to the line-up for this year’s Spiegeltent Festival on Wexford Quayfront in October.

And there’s more news for music fans from festival organisers with the announcement of a second Christy Moore show, after his October 27 date sold out.

Tommy Tiernan, currently in the middle of a 22-show run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is coming to play two nights in the Paradiso Spiegeltent, on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22.

The shows are part of a handful of Irish appearances in October as part of his new ‘Under The Influence’ tour. One of Ireland’s most popular comedians, Tiernan has an eighth DVD ‘Stray Sod’ on current release. Both Spiegeltent shows start 7 p.m. and tickets are €28.

Christy Moore’s second Spiegeltent date on Tuesday, October 25, is a response to popular demand following the sellout of his Thursday show. Tickets are €40 and expected to be snapped up quickly.

Meanwhile, local artist WOLFF is another addition to the Spiegelent bill. Wexford born and raised Johnny Stewart, aka WOLFF, will be rocking out at the atmospheric Spiegeltent on Tuesday, October 18, blending the power and fire of traditional blues with trashy garage rock riffs and in-your-face vocals.

Among the other acts appearing at the 2016 Wexford Spiegeltent Festival are Mick Flanney, Paul Young, Mike Denver, Something Happens and The 4 Of Us, The Saw Doctors, and Ralph McTell, The festival runs from Friday, October 14 to Monday, October 31. Book tickets on www. wexfordspiegeltent.com or in the Box Office at 1 North Main Street, Wexford.
