Waves festival will roll back into county in 2017
THE hugely successful RNLI Waves Festival at Loftus Hall is returning in 2017.
The event, which was headlined by country music star Nathan Carter, drew a crowd of around 3,000 to the walled gardens of the haunted house which celebrates its 666th anniversary this year.
The festival featured numerous high quality and popular acts, including Corner Boy, boy band HomeTown, Elmore and was described by Sergeant Eddie Wilde of New Ross Garda Station as one of the most professionally run festivals he was ever at. The owner of Loftus Hall Aidan Quigley was quick to respond to the delighted festival goers cries for another Waves next year. Mr Quigely said: ‘Without hesitation I can confirm that there will be another Waves event at Loftus Hall in 2017. We were all delighted with the result of all the hard work and the response from all those who attended this very special family friendly festival day. We wanted this festival to become part of Loftus Hall’s legacy, and it certainly achieved that!’
‘Now we will look to develop and grow this event for 2017 so that the 2017 Waves Festival dates of the August 26 and August 27 become a priority calendar event for all.’
Fethard RNLI Lifeboat Press Officer Rebecca Doyle said: ‘We were so pleased with all the support for the Waves Festival from all the volunteers, sponsors, acts, service providers, and most importantly the festival goers. The Waves event and the donation of €12,000 from Loftus Hall has had a powerful impact on our appeal.’
Other events scheduled for Loftus Hall this year include Halloween at the Hall (from October 21 to November 6) and some highly sought after paranormal investigation Lockdown events.
