LEADER meetings in Wexford

INFORMATION meetings regarding the LEADER programme in Wexford between now and 2020 will be rolled out across the county from September 12.

Hosted by WLD, the events will detail the priorities for funding and give an overview of the new application process for individuals and groups who wish to apply. They will take place in Wexford, Enniscorthy, New Ross and Gorey in the coming weeks.

LEADER grant aid will be invested in community and enterprise projects between now and 2020. Following a public consultation process across the county, a number of key objectives which focus on economic development, social inclusion and rural environment have been agreed. They cover the key areas in need of greatest support.

In a change from the rolling application process that applied during previous LEADER programmes, the new programme will have competitive targeted calls for applications from different sectors at specific times throughout the duration of the programme. These targeted calls with pre-defined budgets will assist in ensuring that only the best and most worthy projects will be approved for grant aid.

The meetings will be held in the Talbot Hotel on Monday September 19; Brandon House Hotel on September 12; Riverside Park Hotel on September 14 and Amber Springs Gorey on September 21.
