Clinical Connal to the ‘four’ for Cloughbawn

Division 2A

Connal Flood was the star man for Cloughbawn FC on Sunday as his four-goal haul helped his side to victory against Fethard Rangers.

Barry Carton grabbed the other goal in their convincing 5-1 home win.

New Ross Town won 2-0 away to Enniscorth­y Town with goals from Craig Wickham and Shane Murray, while a Pa Beary goal was enough for North End United to beat Rathnure.

Tom Kelly, Ramesh Badham and Jamie McMahon got on the scoresheet for Rosslare Port in their 3-3 draw with Forth Celtic, while Killenagh racked up a 6-4 away win against Rosslare Strand, with goals from Martin Flynn, Stephen Fynes, Dominic Maher, Jordan Goff (two) and Raymond Cahill.

Division 3

Bree United kick-started the season by netting a magnificen­t seven against Enniscorth­y United on Sunday.

Noel Roche topped the scoring charts with a hat-trick, Thomas Cash was hot on his heels with a double, while Kevin Ring and Dylan Dalton chipped in with a goal apiece in their impressive 7-2 triumph.

Bunclody weren’t far behind in the scoring stakes though, as they earned a 5-0 win away to Ferns United.

Jay Somers and Dwayne Smith both bagged doubles, with Ben Nugent netting their other goal.

Ian Gaffney and Jason Dunne got the goals for last season’s Billy Browne Cup winners Cushinstow­n as they drew 2-2 with Ballymurn, with Paul Dempsey and PJ Burke replying for their opponents.

A Stephen Casey goal was enough for Oylegate to earn the points against Raheen.

Caim United overcame Ballagh 2-0 with goals from Anthony Peare and Paudie Leacy.

Division 3A

It looks like stepping up a division will be no problem for last season’s runaway Division 4 winners Wexford Albion as they began the campaign with a 3-1 win in Kilmore.

Jay Daly, Pierce Dooley and Kyle Mahon all got on the scoresheet for the Wexford town side.

Shelburne also picked up three points thanks to a 3-0 win over Wexford Celtic, with Rob Kehoe, James Connick and Thomas Furlong getting their goals.

Darragh Kent and Jim Wall hit the net for Campile United, but they were on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline against Camolin, while Castledock­rell edged out Bridge Rovers 2-1 and Rosbercon stormed to a 6-2 win in Curracloe.

Division 4

A Mark Doyle hat-trick helped All Blacks to an opening day 5-0 win over St. Leonards, with Aaron Wright Power and David Moore also on the mark for the Mayglass-based side.

Conor Keeling was another man who scored a treble, as he netted three for Crossabeg in their emphatic 5-1 win over Rosslare Rangers, with Evan Kinlough and Conor Kelly getting their other goals.

Last season’s Division 4A champions Corach Ramblers beat Wexford Bohs 3-1, with MJ Doran bagging a double, James Byrne gettting their other goal and Ben Walsh replying for the Wexford town side.

Elsewhere, Moyne Rangers won 2-1 in Carne and Gorey Celtic overwhelme­d Enniscorth­y United 4-0.

Division 4A

Mark McDonagh netted both goals for Boolavogue as they earned a 2-2 draw against Shamrock Rovers, with Tony Kenny and Martin Byrne replying for the Enniscorth­y men.

Paul Lambert and Kevin Murphy got the goals for Cloughbawn in their 2-0 win over Bree United.

Elsewhere, Enniscorth­y Town beat Rosslare Port 4-2 and St. Joseph’s saw off Tombrack 2-0.

Division 5

Castledock­rell left Caim with the three points on Sunday as a Murt Hendrick double earned them a 2-1 win, with Darren Blackburn netting for Caim.

Wexford Albion edged out Cushinstow­n 4-3 in a goal-fest, with Mark Browne (two), Cian Rossiter and Mark Lett scoring for the town side and Niall Bradley, Patrick Kearns and Aaron Ryan replying for Cushinstow­n.

Stoney Rovers got the better of Camolin by the odd goal in nine, St. Cormac’s overcame Duncannon 2-0 and Killenagh and Ballymurn played out a 0-0 stalemate.
