SPEECH AND DRAMA
Speech and drama classes will resume on Monday, September 12, in Kiltealy Community Hall and on Tuesday, September 13, in Ballindaggin Community Hall after school for primary school students. These classes are not only fun but a great way to improve confidence, creativity and communication skills. Over the year children will have the opportunity to put on a show, take part in drama festivals and take an exam with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama. New members very welcome. HOUSE OF STORIES
The September session of Ballindaggin House of stories takes place this Thursday night, September 8, at the usual time of 8 p.m. Another great night of good music, songs, craic and raffle. Tea served at the interval. Admission free.
HORSE CANTER
Ballindaggin annual Horse Canter will take place on Sunday, September 25, with kind permission from land owners. This 15 k event is suitable for all ages and category of riders and will commence at 10.30 a.m. Adults €30 and children €20. Refreshments in the Community Hall afterwards for all participants.
The organising committee are appealing for help with construction and erection of signs etc. on the days leading up to the canter, and on Sunday the 25th stewards and help to man the various stations will also be needed. For further information contact Claire at 087 6800919.
AFTERSCHOOL

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Mary O’Toole (née Ellard) Knockduff, Ballindaggin who passed away on August 28.To her husband Martin and sisters Liz and Joan and to her brothers John and Pat, relations and friends we extend deepest sympathy. Interment took place in Castledockrell Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
FIRST DAY IN SCHOOL
Twenty four children began new junior infants in St Colman’s NS, Ballindaggin last week. Eleven children began junior infants in Kiltealy N.S., also one child joined senior infants, one joined second class and one joined fifth class for the new school year in Kiltealy. Wishing them all well as they begin their education.
DUFFRY ROVERS LOTTO
The numbers drawn last week were 2, 6, 12 and 19. No jackpot winner. Four players matched 3; Aidan Murphy, Ballyminane. Garry O’Neill, Monbeg. Brigid Howlin, Caim and Richard and Leonie, Coolacarney. They won €40 each. Sellers prizes last week went to Jim Hanrahan, Martin O’Connor, Pat Armstrong and the Watchorn family. The draw tonight (Tuesday. September 6) is in Bowe’s, Kiltealy and the jackpot is €7,600.
VINTAGE DAY
Caim Vintage Club are holding their annual vintage thrashing day, road run, five mile road race, jog/walk at Rackard’s, Caim on Sunday next, September 11, at midday in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare and the Vintage Club. Attractions include: sheep shearing, horse shoeing, brick-a-brac, model trains, bottle stall etc.
