WEXFORD HOCKEY

As one of the most successful hockey clubs in the south-east, Wexford Hockey Club will be resuming training across all age groups in the coming weeks.

Despite the club having no permanent abode, we currently have over 180 active members across our Junior, Senior and social hockey club sections. We have two adult teams, a vets’/social team and Junior sections from Under-8s up to Under-18s.

This year we will be using a variety of locations for training for the different sections, so please contact the relevant person for each age group our e-mail us at wexfordhockey@ gmail.com

Primary school (second, third and fourth classes): location, Wallace’s, Crossabeg; registration, Saturday, September 10, 9.30 a.m. Training resumes Saturday, September 10, 10 to 11 a.m. Contact: Avril Jones (0876624585).

Primary school (fifth and sixth classes): location, St. Joseph’s, Bishopswater; registration, Monday, September 12, 5 p.m. Training resumes Monday, September 12, 5 to 6 p.m. Contact: Therese Finan (0877583783).

Secondary school (first, second and third years): location, Astro Active, Enniscorthy; registration, Tuesday, September 13, 6.50 p.m. Training resumes Tuesday, September 13, 6.50 to 8.15 p.m. Contact: Sinéad Dempsey (087-2357584).

Adult (TYs, fifth and sixth year students and over): location, Astro Active, Enniscorthy. Training on Tuesdays currently from 7-9 p.m., but this will change to 8-10 p.m. from September 13. Contact: Rosie O’Brien (087-6332736).

New members are welcome. Some sticks are available for those who would like to have a go at playing hockey. Please bring your own gumshield and shinguards.
