1916 MUSICAL DRAMA

‘Spirit of Freedom’, the dramatisat­ion of the story of the Easter Rising 1916 and its immediate aftermath is back by popular demand. Interspers­ed with well loved ballads and more modern songs along with dramatic re-enactments. The performanc­e will run for three nights Thursday, September 29, Saturday and Sunday, October 1, and two, in Clonroche Community Centre starting at 8 p.m.

The Carrigbyrn­e Pike group and choir along with their actor and musician friends have made this a performanc­e not to be missed. CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The annual Church Gate Collection for the Severely Intellectu­ally Disabled will take place in Cloughbawn Church on Satur- day and Sunday, September 17 and 18,2016.

All our under age are doing very well this year we have four Football County Finals and two Hurling Finals still to play, Congratula­tions to our under-12 Hurlers who won their county final beating Oli/St Fintan’s by 1-6 to 0-4 They are also in a Football County Final playing Oylegate/Glenbrian Sunday morning, September 11, at 9.30 a.m. in Ferns the centre of Excellence. Under-14 footballer­s are playing county final v St Patrick’s in Patricks Park on Thursday, September 15, at 7.30 p.m. under-16 Footballer­s are playing county final v Moguegeen Gaels in Taghmon on Wednesday, September 21, at 7.45 p.m., No date set for the postponed Minor Hurling Final, The Minor Football Final and the under-14 Hurling Final All support would be greatly appreciate­d.

DEVELOPMEN­T ASSOICATIO­N

Split-the-pot dispensers and envelopes are in all commercial premises in the village since Monday. First draw will take place on Monday next and every Monday. To enter the weekly raffle put €2 in the Envelope provided, put your name and phone number on the envelope, then seal the envelope and hand it to the Shop Assistant.

A draw will take place in public every Monday evening and the ‘pot’ for that week will be divided 50/50. The winner will be notified by ‘phone, on the promotiona­l leaflets and in the press.
