PANTO FUN IS READY TO ROLL WITH ENNISCORTH­Y MUSICAL SOCIETY

ENNISCORTH­Y Musical Society has been promoting musical theatre and encouragin­g local performing arts for nearly 50 years. This year is no different as the society announces two new exciting events in their upcoming calendar.

On Saturday, October 1, young local people with any level of stage experience, from the age of 6 to 16, are welcome to take part in an EMStars Workshop. The young people will learn singing, dancing, acting and performanc­e skills from experience­d EMS performers and production team.

The EMStars Workshop, which is a fundraiser for forthcomin­g production­s, will take place in The Church Institute, Church St, Enniscorth­y from 10am to 3pm and costs only €20 per child. A great day is guaranteed for all taking part with fun, games, confidence building and teamwork the main focus of the day. Booking is advised for the exciting workshop on 0874395057.

After getting massive online attention over the summer, the widely anticipate­d EMS Panto, Peter Pan, which will be staged in Enniscorth­y’s Athenaeum from December 8-11, will hold its auditions on Sunday, October 9 in The IFA Centre, Mill Park Road, Enniscorth­y.

There are many parts to be cast be it singing, dancing or acting, or all three. Producer/ Director Gearóid McCauley said: “I’ve been stopped on the street by so many people who are excited that Panto is coming back to town. There’s such amazing interest and we’re looking forward to getting a fan- tastic cast to bring this marvellous show to the people of Enniscorth­y. We have parts to cast for every age, as well as lots of supporting roles in singing, dancing and acting. We hope everyone gets to the IFA on the 9th of October to amaze us with their talents.” AUDITION TIMES: 12 noon to 3pm: children’s chorus and principal children actors/singers (aged 6 to 16 years) 4pm to 6pm: a dancing only chorus, an adult singing only chorus/choir, an adult on stage chorus, Principal Adults Actors (all aged over 17) All audition informatio­n is available on www.edms.ie.
