Early morning boost for businesses with ‘Wake Up Wednesdays’

-

On Wednesday last September 7 at the rather early hour of 7.30am a group of approximately 20 local business people came together under the new Wake Up Wednesday initiative of the Enniscorthy & District Chamber.

Sponsored by AIB and chaired by manager Maree Lyng, this enterprising programme is designed to bring the business community of Enniscorthy together to grow each other’s businesses.

As President John Burke O’Leary put it: ‘We all find it much easier to commend and sell others than to praise ourselves, and that is what our Wake Up Wednesdays is all about.

‘It is an unique opportunity to network, connect and make each other aware of all the business that is being done in the town and environs.

‘It is all of us together,’ he said ‘in business for business,’ quoting the new slogan of the Enniscorthy & District Chamber.

Wednesday morning’s group had the distinction of being the first to gather at the new Enniscorthy & District Chamber premises at Portsmouth House and included many new, enterprising ventures from web design, job coaching, virtual administration, Catty Town, health & dafety, nutrition & health coaching, insurance, cognitive behavioural therapy, social media, wheelie bin cleaning, to civil engineering and building contractors. Two that sparked my interest were Mysterious Holidays and South East TV.

South East TV is a multimedia company focusing on music, culture and documentaries. SETV.IE is one of the first registered and licensed online broadcaster’s in Ireland, and is the only bilingual of its type, accessible in both Irish and English.

Local women Ellen Doherty and Bridget Crean discovered a niche in the tourism sector and began what they now call Mysterious Holidays. Mysterious Holidays is aimed at providing something new and different for the visitor whilst utilising to the full of Ireland’s wealth of ghostly and mystic heritage.

Mysterious Holidays is fast becoming the ‘go to’ site for ‘Fun Spooky’ Tourism so if this is what floats your boat call Bridget or Ellen at 089 2522708/2522732.

Our Wake Up Wednesday session concluded with a most informative and energising talk by Clodagh McCumiskey of Spiritual Earth who told the gathering about her anti virus programme for the mind saying ‘If you can change your mind you can change anything’.
