In an evenly-contested match, it took a sparkle of brilliance from Chantelle Martin to eventually break the deadlock with four minutes to go.

Bree United 0, Ferns United 8: Premier side Ferns were much too strong for newly-promoted Bree and ran out comfortable 8-0 winners.
Goals from Rachel Collier, Liz Evered, Josie Dwyer, Georgina Moore, Nicola Kirwan and a hat-trick from Aoife Devereux, who was making her debut, gave Ferns all three points.

Courtown Hibs 0, Tombrack United 0: Despite this match being a scoreless draw, it was a game of several chances with the home side enjoying the best of the first-half but unable to break down the visitors’ well-organised defence.
The second-half was much more evenly-contested and in the end both teams were content with a point.

Sinéad Ryan (two) and Sandra Murphy were on target for Town but goals from Fiona Ryan (four), Ciara Ryan and Niamh Browne gave the Ballycullane side their second win of the group and qualification for the next stage.
Stoney LFC 0, Fastnet Rovers 5: Fastnet are also through to the next stage of the competition after they recorded a 5-0 win over an understrength Stoney side.
Joanne Jordan (2), Rebecca O’Connor, Shirley O’Neill and Triona Kelly gave Rovers an important three points.

Arklow Town 0, Bunclody AFC 2: Two wins from two games see Bunclody through to the knockout stages of the Shield as they travelled to Arklow and came away 2-0 winners.
Hayley Browne scored direct from a corner and Britney Conroy made sure of the points with a goal ten minutes from the end.

Bridge Rovers 1, St. Joseph’s 9: St. Joseph’s have ensured their place in the knockout stage with a comprehensive 9-1 win away to Bridge Rovers.
Sarah Ryan scored for Rovers but goals from Michelle Gahan (four), Emer O Leary (three) and Kelsey Reid (two) gave Joey’s victory.
