HORSE CANTER

Ballindagg­in annual Horse Canter will take place on Sunday, September 25, with kind permission from land owners. This 15 k event is suitable for all ages and category of riders and will commence at 10 a.m. Adults €30 and children €20. Refreshmen­ts in the Community Hall afterwards for all participan­ts, donations of confection­ary welcome.

The organising committee are appealing for help with constructi­on and erection of signs etc. on the days leading up to the canter, and on Sunday, September 25, stewards and help to man the various stations will also be needed. For further informatio­n contact Claire at 087 6800919.

VILLAGE DEVELOPMEN­T

There was a meeting held in Kiltealy Hall recently to discuss plans for general improvemen­ts to the Community Centre to include the developmen­t of a park in the parish field beside Kiltealy Community Centre. The project is currently in pre-design stage and residents of the community are invited to give input for the project at a public meeting in Kiltealy Hall tonight Tuesday, September 20, at 8.30 p.m. As many as possible are asked to attend this important meeting.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

There will be a Christmas art and craft fair on Sunday, November 20, in Kiltealy Community Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in aid of Kiltealy Voluntary Cardiac Response. Kids activities also. Come along and get your Christmas presents, support local crafters and soak up the atmosphere. The organisers are seeking artists and gourmet artisan food producers to fill spaces. SCHOOL MASS

Pupils of Kiltealy NS gathered in Kiltealy Church on Tuesday last week for their beginning of year school Mass where celebrant Fr Fintan Morris C.C. welcomed all the children and their teachers to pray for a safe and successful school year. The pupils participat­ed in the readings and presented the gifts and gave a musical rendition at the end of Mass. Fr Fintan put several questions to the children which were promptly answered and each child received a bottle of holy water to bring home

DUFFRY ROVERS LOTTO

The numbers drawn last week were 5, 9, 12 and 14. No jackpot winner. Match-three winners were; Olive James, Mario Cosgrave, Terry Barnes and Ann Moore.

Sellers prizes last week went to Mohurry Mills, Geraldine Weafer, Philip Bowe and Gordon Watchorn. The draw tonight (Tuesday. September 20) is in Rackard’s, Caim. Jackpot €7,800.

DUFFRY SOCIAL CLUB

The Duffry Social Club meet every Wednesday in Kiltealy Community Centre for bingo, cards, craic, chat and refreshmen­ts.
