GAA MONSTER AUCTION

The Kildavin-Clonegal GAA Club hosted a Monster Auction on Sunday, September 11. Over one,000 items were donated, many sold by direct sale with the balance being auctioned. The club wishes to expresses its heartfelt thanks to the community and beyond who donated items and gave sponsorshi­p and, to the hundreds of people who came along to support the event, and to Pat Lennon and Joe Mernagh who were our auctioneer­s.

Thanks also to the club ladies committee who provided compli- mentary teas and coffees on the day. A large band of club members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes were extremely gratified with the result and are grateful for the support and good will of the community which it will continue to serve by providing opportunit­ies to all to participat­e in our Gaelic games and provide a wide range of community facilities. Anyone wanting to become involved with the club please contact any member of the committee.

CLONEGAL CAMOGIE CLUB

Well done to all the girls from the U6, U8, under-10 under-12 and under-14 teams who played so well in their end of season blitz and league finals. They were great and got well deserved wins. Training continues on Saturday mornings in Spellman Park, Kildavin at 11 a.m. Our annual sponsored walk takes place on Saturday, September 21, please support or come along and join us for the walk, meeting at 10.45 at Spellman Park, Kildavin.

TIDY TOWNS RESULTS

The countdown to announcing Ireland’s Tidiest Town for 2016 has begun. The results of the SuperValu Tidy Towns National Awards will be announced Monday, September 26, in the Helix, DCU in Dublin. Well done to the people of Clonegal and Kildavin village for all their hard work during the year. We wish them the very best of luck.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Please note that under-11 mixed basketball training will start on Wednesday, September 21, at 5.30 p.m. in Ballon Hall from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Under-13 Boys and Girls basketball training will start on Wednesday, September 21, from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. For more informatio­n, please contact Bernie 087 9352665.

SCHOOL COFFEE MORNING

Kildavin National School’s annual coffee morning will take place on Friday, September 23, at 10 a.m. in Spellman Hall, in aid of Carlow Hospice. All donations of baked goods would be greatly received in the hall from 9 a.m. that morning. Thank you.

CELTIC STARS FC

A big thank you to Tony Egan of Fitzpatric­k’s Garage, Carlow for sponsoring new jersey’s to the Celtic Stars ‘A’ teams and to Michàel Slye of MS Constructi­on for sponsoring new jersey’s to the Celtic Stars ‘B’ team. The club wishes both business continued success in the future.

KARE TRACTOR RUN

The 10th annual tractor run will take place in Tinahely on Sunday, October 2, at midday. Proceeds in aid of KARE, Local Service Tinahely (promoting inclusion for people with intellectu­al disabiliti­es). This fundraisin­g event will start in Tinahely and will take a scenic route around the highways and byways of Tinahely.
