ON WEDNESDAY, October 5, the Enniscorthy business community came together with Hughes Blake, the well-known Enniscorthy accountancy firm, to celebrate admittance to Baker Tilly International as its member firm in the Republic of Ireland.
The celebratory event hosted in the Riverside Park Hotel was attended by Minister Paul Kehoe, who had the height of praise for Kevin and Neil Hughes for their hard work and dedication to not only their own business but have also been instrumental in bringing business and jobs to Enniscorthy. Minister Kehoe applauded Neil’s commitment to his company and his constant positive outlook on the economy through difficult times, describing him as one of the steadfast self employed people who stuck the pace and is hopefully now reaping the rewards of his foresight and endurance.
‘ This new departure is a tremendous growth opportunity for Baker Tilly Hughes Blake while also benefiting business and employment in Wexford’, Mr Kehoe said, and he concluded by thanking both Neil and Kevin Hughes for always keeping Enniscorthy and Wexford close to their hearts.
Having recently joined the Baker Tilly network, managing partner Neil Hughes said: ‘ This is a fantastic opportunity to bring more business and jobs back to Enniscorthy. As a full service firm, we are well positioned to work with Irish and international businesses across their audit, tax, corporate recovery, corporate finance, company secretarial and business advisory needs’.
Neil went on to thank his father Kevin and mother Margaret for their encouragement and unwavering support, all the members of the Hughes Blake team both in Dublin and Wexford, saying that it was wonderful to work side by side with so many dedicated people and his colleagues on South East Radio stating that Morning Mix was great training for any situation.
He said: ‘ Things are beginning to happen again with many new initiatives for the South East and we earnestly hope that this new venture will help to bring as many of them as possible to Enniscorthy.
‘Under the leadership of my partners Kieran McCarthy, Stephen McGivern and Alma O’Brien and all in the management group, we have invested in building up experienced teams across each of these disciplines, and having welcomed 15 new team members to the Dublin office and three new members to the Enniscorthy team so far this year. Creating employment, it is something we will continue to do at an accelerated pace as we hire 60 additional people over the next three years
