Brand new showroom opening coincides with 21st anniversary

-

THIS is a special month for everyone at James Tomkins Suzuki garage at The Monument in Gorey. Not only are they preparing to open their brand new showroom and state-of-the art workshop, but they are also celebrating their 21st anniversary.

Like all family-run businesses, James Tomkins Garage Ltd. started small in August 1995, working from home on the Courtown Road, but from those humble beginnings, James’ strong work ethic soon saw his business grow.

He built a reputation for being a dealer that customers could trust, and someone who could deliver on what was promised.

He had served his time in Doyle’s garage in Courtown, before taking the plunge to begin working for himself, under the name of James Tomkins Garage Ltd., some 21 years ago.

Very quickly, it became clear that a commercial premises would be required to allow the business to prosper, and in 1996, the opportunity arose to purchase the former Seabrooks premises at The Monument in Gorey.

In the following years, James built up his team at The Monument, offering quality vehicle servicing, and a trusted dealership.

The growth continued, and by 1999, work on a new building on site was completed. Additionally, contracts were signed with Suzuki Ireland in December 1999.

‘We couldn’t have started at a better time in car sales as the Celtic tiger was in full swing,’ recalled James. ‘Suzuki have proven to be a solid reliable brand and the help and support we have received from Suzuki Ireland over the years has been greatly appreciated.’

Equally, the loyalty and support of customers over the past 21 years has been invaluable, and James and his team are all too aware that without their continued, and repeated, business, the garage would not be where it is today, at the start of the next exciting chapter in its story.

All are welcome to the family fun evening at the new James Tomkins Wexford Suzuki Centre on Friday, October 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., to help celebrate the last 21 years, and the next.
