Wexford graduates building a brighter future with the ESB

-

TWO UCD graduates, Robert O’Connell from Kilmurry, Gorey, and Colin Browne from Oulart, recently began a three-year graduate development programme at the ESB.

They are among 76 graduates from Irish third level institutions, spanning fields of engineering, IT, HR, marketing, trading and finance, to take part in the tailored programme which will allow them to develop both professionally and personally.

The ESB said that the programme is part of an ambitious drive to recruit the brightest talent from third level institutions.

‘Energy use impacts on every area of our daily lives and how we dramatically reduce our carbon consumption is one of the defining issues facing humanity,’ ESB chief executive Pat O’Doherty told them at their induction week in Dublin’s National Concert Hall recently. ‘As Ireland’s foremost energy company, ESB is committed to offering a rewarding and dynamic career path for exceptional people interested in meeting the challenges of the coming decades.’

‘Our 76 new colleagues will play an important part in building this brighter, more sustainable future,’ he added. ‘Working across diverse business units in hands-on roles, I have no doubt that they will enhance our culture of collaboration and teamwork, as ESB seeks to remain at the forefront of energy innovation.’

Graduate recruitment for 2017 is now open. Those interested in the programme can apply online now at www.esb. ie/careers/graduateprogramme2017
