CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Iain Banville, Ballymurn and Conor Boylan, Kilmallock on their achievemen­t in Business Studies in their Junior Cert. They both travelled to WIT Waterford last week to An Award ceremony where they received an award for their results in Business Studies. They are both students of St Mary’s CBS Enniscorth­y. Conor Boylan will also travel to DCU in Dublin at the end of the month for his achievemen­t in Science in his Junior Cert. Well done, boys.

GAA NOTES

IRISH NIGHT

Don’t forget Irish Night is the last Friday in the month in the Anvil pub Ballymurn. Everyone welcome, why not come along and join in the craic.

BINGO

Bingo is on every Monday night in Ballymurn at 9.30 p.m. Snowball €1,000.

TIDY TOWNS

Ballymurn Tidy Towns received great praise from the adjudicato­rs following their visit to the village and saw a rise of eight marks to 288. The report stated that the committee of 10 had made great efforts locally and the local National School had been a big help.

Coming in for particular praise was St Killian’s Well and the report stated ‘This is a lovely setting of nice landscapin­g of trees and flowers. The nice seating area was admired. The people responsibl­e for preserving and maintainin­g this area of heritage are to be compliment­ed.’ In their concluding remarks, the adjudicato­rs said the village was a pleasure to visit.
