Counting down to the Celtic Choristers show

-

MUSIC lovers are in for a treat at Christ Church, Gorey, on Friday, November 11, next, as Gorey Men’s Shed present the Celtic Choristers and guests.

The event has been organised to raise funds for Kíla’s First Steps (Kíla is pictured right), and Gorey Men’s Shed and tickets at €10 are now on sale.

The Celtic Choristers are a highly renowned 40-strong male voice choir who are based in Rathmines, Dublin. Their musical director is Ethel Glancy and they will be accompanied in Christ Church by pianist Lina Buterina-Kiva. MC for the evening is Gerry Cahill of Dublin City FM.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. with céilí music from the Templemicheal céilí band who hail from the Arklow and Gorey area.

Then it’s straight into the main act, the Celtic Choristers, with some solo performances during the evenings programme, from Lina Buterina-Kiva and Michelle Delmar.

At the interval, there’s a raffle, and the draw will be made using the numbers on the concert programmes, rather than raffle tickets.

Tickets for the show are priced at €10, and are available from French’s and Gwalia Stores on Main Street, Gorey, and from Fran’s Shoe Repairs in Gorey Shopping Centre.

The Men’s Shed members will sell tickets in Gorey Credit Union on Friday, October 28, and in Gorey Shopping Centre on Saturday, November 5. Tickets can also be purchased by phoning 085 7318927.

The event sponsors are: Cllr Robbie Ireton and Gorey Credit Union; with Katie Daly’s, Doyle’s Londis, AIB Gorey, Sherry FitzGerald O’Leary Kinsella, and Sean Sheridan Heating and Plumbing.
