Joan and Sally hope to help to transform many lives with New Vistas

-

THE tranquil setting of Murphy’s Barn will serve as the backdrop for a series of new personal development courses that will help participants to take a new approach to living.

Established by accredited councillors Joan Etchingham and Sally Griffiths, New Vistas Therapies is an initiative aimed at those who want to learn more about stress relief, mindfulness, communication, relaxation and other vital skills. With their ‘Life Makeover’ courses, the pair hope to welcome people from all walks of life with an interest in personal development.

‘ There are an awful lot of people who may not feel that one-toone counselling is for them but they still want to learn a bit about who they are,’ explained Sally Griffiths, a full-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and practicing counsellor. ‘ This course is for those people. It gives a gentle introduction to areas such as mindfulness and stress relief.’

The duo aim to make their courses informative and practical, yet fun and enjoyable. All of the information shared will be kept confidential. Sally and Joan will also be available to speak to people one on one before or after each session.

The six week course will begin in the coming weeks. An in-depth day course will also take place on November 26.

Sarah Griffiths (Sally) has been in private practice for twenty one years and has worked in the Traumatic Death Bereavement Service in the H.S.E. for nine years. Sally previously worked as a counsellor with Console and as a volunteer counsellor with a listening service called Talk it Over for the suicide bereaved. Meanwhile, Joan has worked with Console for years and has completed ‘Assist’ Training for suicide training with the HSE.
