NOVENA OF MASSES
There will be a week long novena of Masses for the deceased celebrated in Kiltealy Church beginning on Sunday, November 13, at 10 a.m. and every night from Monday, November 14, to Friday, November 18, at 7.30 p.m., ending on Saturday, November 19, at 7 p.m. Benediction after each Mass. All deceased family members, relatives and friends and those who have no one left to pray for them will be remembered at every Mass.
HOUSE OF STORIES
The November session of house of stories takes place in Ballindaggin Community Hall this Thursday, November 10, at 8 p.m. A great night of entertainment promised. Raffle, tea served. Admission free. The proceeds of the raffle go to the upkeep of Ballindaggin Community Hall.
POKER CLASSIC
Duffry Rovers annual five card poker game will take place in Jordan’s Lounge, Ballindaggin this Friday night, November 11, at 9.30 p.m. As in previous years there is a prize fund of over €1,000. Tickets are €20 which includes food and door prizes. Tickets are available from any committee member or player. There is a special draw with a prize of a weekend hotel break for two for everyone who buys a ticket before the night.
CABARET
Blackstairs Rebel are playing a cabaret in Jordan’s, Ballindaggin on Saturday night next November 12 in aid of Newpark underage soccer. There will be no cover charge but a raffle on the night for great prizes. It’s 20 years since Blackstairs Rebel first played a gig in Jordan’s. It’s sure to be a great session on Saturday night with one of Ireland’s best pub entertainers and festival acts.
ART AND CRAFT FAIR
Kicking off the festive spirit Kiltealy Voluntary Cardiac Response are having a fundraising Christmas craft fair in Kiltealy Community Hall on Sunday, November 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids activities with Mrs Claus and her elves helping out on the day. Come along and get your Christmas presents, see the fantastic work the local crafters have on show and soak up the atmosphere
KILTEALY ICA
President Eileen Brennan chaired the November meeting of Kiltealy ICA held on Thursday night last. All members wished Kathleen O’Leary a speedy recovery from her illness. Guild members are participating in the Christmas craft fair in Kiltealy Community Hall on November 20. This year members are donating to the Christmas shoe box appeal for Africa. Raffle winner was Marie Coleman and competition winner for the nicest Halloween brack was Anne Warren. A lovely tea was served by Patricia Coughlan. The competition for December is for the nicest Christmas mug.
LOTTO
The numbers drawn last week were 14, 18, 25 and 31. Three players matched three and won €50 each; Mairead Jordan, Cloroguemore. Larry Meyler Jnr, Kiltealy PO and Trish Dagg, Monart. Sellers prizes; Robert Rackard, Matt Mernagh, Peter Ryan and Bowes. The draw tonight (Tuesday. November 8) is in Jordan’s, Ballindaggin and the jackpot is €1,900.
KILTEALY NS
A collection of unwanted clothes will take place on Monday, November 21, at Kiltealy school and the shelter at the school will be open all next week during school hours to facilitate dropping off of clothes. Your support is very much appreciated.
DANCING
There is dancing in Rathanna Hall on Sunday night next November 13 with music by the Wicklow Man. Dancing from 9.30 p.m., refreshments served. Admission €8.
