Communities devastated at loss of Darren

-

THE community of Boolavogue and Monamolin was devastated to learn of the tragic death of Darren Doran at his home in Monagrena, Monamolin last Thursday.

40-year-old Darren was the youngest son of Paddy and Rita and was highly respected in the local area.

One of four brothers Darren ran the family farm and was deeply passionate about farming.

In addition to running the family farm Darren had also worked as a farm labourer in the past and was known for his work ethic. He was a highly sought after farm hand and was very well respected by other farmers in the area.

A quiet, unassuming and gentle soul Darren was a great friend and had kept in close contact with several of his school friends, and they often called to chat to him while he was working on the farm.

Darren who was due to celebrate his 41st birthday on December 27 was also quick to lend a hand at community events and local field days.

The esteem in which Darren was held in the locality was evident at his funeral mass when hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their final respects.

He is survived by his devastated parents Paddy and Rita, heartbroken brothers Declan, Damian and Dermot, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His remains reposed at his home until removal on Sunday to St Cormac’s Church, Boolavogue with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
