The church gig is part of a short series of concerts by the ex-boy soprano at religious venues in Ireland and the US including a recent performance in New York at the Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church and an upcoming event at the Dublin Unitarian Church in Stephen’s Green, Dublin on November 25 along with two other pre- Christmas gigs in coughlans of Cork on Thursday, December 8 and 1 Pery Square, Limerick on December 12.

Pierce will perform with his Irish ensemble in St. Iberius Church in an event promoted by Wexford Arts Centre. Tickets at €23 can be booked through the centre’s website.

The multi-talented artist who released his 14th album Love Can’t Always Be Articulate earlier this year, will perform at the Celtic Connections festival on January 20.

He also wrote the score this year for the film Emerald City which was accepted for the London and Dublin Irish Film Festival.

‘When the director Colin Broderick asked me to write the score to his film after shooting it I was surprised,’ he said.

‘I’ve had such a bad experience working with Hollywood before on the score of Snakes and Ladders, I just walked away. Life’s too short to work with jerks. The reaction tot he score so far has been amazing. Colin actually cried when I played him the theme.’
