Fion in flying form

Feature event won in superb style

-

THE FEATURE event at Enniscorthy Dog Track last Thursday was the final of the Soltherm External Insulation A2/3 Stake, and it was won in great style by Ballinclare Fion.

Going through the stake unbeaten, his win this time was probably his best, having to overcome the tricky trap six draw. At trap rise it was as expected trap three runner Good Ability who led up to the corner as the well-drawn Coyote Sea slipped into second spot.

Ballinclare went up on the outside with several runners on his inside, and he ran right around them to go quickly into third spot. He was soon challenging Coyote for second behind the pace-setting Good Ability, and as they approached the final bend the leader tracked towards the outside and Ballinclare tracked nicely, cutting inside him to challenge with Coyote sticking to his favoured inside line.

The battle was to the winning line, with Ballinclare proving the stronger and recording a very deserved success to complete his fourth straight win for owner Aislinn McCann from Gorey.

Coyote Sea battled on for second, with Good Ability settling for third spot. The winning time was 29.05, a super run from the winner considering his position at the first bend. He is clearly a dog on the upgrade.
