€150,000boost from golfing events in 2017

STENA LINE has announced that it will be providing a tailor-made gourmet golfing holiday in County Wexford in 2017.

The ferry company is continuing its partnershi­p with Club Choice Ireland, the leading provider of these bespoke tours to the east and south east of Ireland.

Next year Stena Line will present three prestigiou­s Club Choice Ireland events - The Gourmet Golf Classic in Wexford, The Stena Line Senior Mixed Pairs in Trim, County Meath and The Stena Line Senior Gents Open in Kilkenny. Throughout the year, Club Choice Ireland will host five notable golf events. In 2017, two of these will take place in Wexford delivering over 800 bed nights and over €150,000 to the local economy. Full details on these two event will be announced soon. Stena Line and Club Choice Ireland first joined forces in 2013 and to date the collaborat­ion has generated revenue of over €5 million for the Irish tourism and hospitalit­y sector.

Through its network of more than 40 golf courses, hotels and resorts, Club Choice Ireland creates bespoke golfing holidays for the Irish and British golfer.

Golfers have the added benefit of being able to fill the car with their own golf clubs and equipment with no additional baggage charges, an important considerat­ion especially for travelling groups.’

The Stena Line Senior Mixed Pairs takes place in early April 2017 and The Stena Line Senior Gents Open the following month in May. Packages include accommodat­ion, three rounds of golf, prizes, a presentati­on dinner and return ferry from only £310 per person sharing (based on four travelling per car).

For those participat­ing from within Ireland, the package is available excluding the ferry from €260 per person sharing.
