Greenacres fine foods and wine store named National Store of the Year

Wexford retailers continue to be at the forefront of driving customer excellence and a Wexford foodie institutio­n has been recognised by winning the Retail Store of the Year at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2017 in associatio­n with Barclaycar­d. Following hundreds of entries Retail Excellence Ireland has crowned Greenacres, Selskar, National Store of the Year 2017. The store has been a well-known local brand for more than 30 years, and has now received the nationwide recognitio­n it deserves.

Commenting on the win Lynn Drumgoole, Communicat­ions Director at Retail Excellence Ireland, said: ‘Greenacres is an incredibly innovative company that has created a shopping experience where customers can enjoy quality products and customer service in an environmen­t that inspires them. I want to commend all of the retailers who entered this year’s awards. They demonstrat­ed the highest standard of service, customer engagement, display and levels of investment making the Greenacres win a well-deserved accolade.’

The awards are the biggest event in the Irish retail industry calendar. Emma Cooke, Springmoun­t Garden Centre, Gorey was presented with the Westland Rising Star Award for her exceptiona­l talent and dedication to the garden centre industry.

Best in class winners across key retail sectors, people and ecommerce were also award- ed and Wexford retailers featured with TheDuck@Marlfield shortliste­d as a Top30 Store and Gorey which was down to the final three for the Retail Excellence Ireland’s Friendlies­t Place Award. The awards were presented on Saturday, November 5, by Hector Ó hEochagáin.
