Hook area bank cards offer deals

-

THE Fellowship of the Ring of Hook marketing company have developed free bank cards which can be used at venues throughout the Hook Peninsula, an area which features the number one local bar in the country, the most visited tourist destination in the county and two of the region’s most celebrated restaurants.

The bank card is being launched at a business expo organised by Bank of Ireland at Good Counsel College in New Ross, on Saturday. The Enterprise Town event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a business, community and sports expo, as well as plenty of family friendly activities.

The Fellowship of the Ring of Hook was established by Wexford man Patrick Kent to brand and develop New Ross and the Ring of Hook area, so that the area is able to compete nationally and internationally and is not lost in all the hype of the Wild Atlantic Way. Mr Kent said he wants to take advantage of the current roll out of Ireland’s Ancient East.

‘Ireland’s Ancient East is great but we believe it does not capture the real spirit of this area. Furthermore, we believe that we have everything and more that the Wild Atlantic Way has, and in a more compact area, and together with the onset of the new motorway we are less than an hour and a half from Dublin,’ Mr Kent said. ‘Plus with the new motorway we don’t want to be overlooked by all the tourist traffic coming from the Rosslare direction. Before reaching out to the national tourist market it is essential to gauge and capture the local tourism market – ‘ the locals’. It is said the hardest people to visit and partake in local offerings are those who live in the area.’

The company’s initial strategy is to distribute 5,000 saving cards in the New Ross & Ring of Hook area offering exclusive special deals from each client partner for a three month period from January to March 2017.

The savings card will provide exclusive offers to customers rather than a discount card. ‘By providing offers it permits the public to have an immediate external view of what the business is offering and therefore is more likely to enable them to engage. To participate in this stage, we are offering a sign-up fee of €150 for the period January to March 2017. This offering would normally be on the market for a cost point of €320 for businesses. To be part of the Exclusive Card with access to 5,000 potential customers as the cards will be distributed free of charge within the local area and the businesses then offer deals via the Fellowship of The Ring of Hook website. The savings card will be officially launched on November 19 at the New Ross Enterprise Town Event and will be listed on the website www. FellowshipOfTheRingOfHook.com - which will go live in December 2016. An extended Business Branding offer is available for businesses for €500 with sponsored branding on the back of the first 5,000 cards for the three months. Space is limited to the first six sign ups.
