PIONEER DINNER DANCE
The annual Pioneer dinner dance will take place on Wednesday, November 23, at 8.30 p.m. in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy. Tickets at €30 are available at the door. Music by Billy Kirwan. This will be preceded by Mass for the deceased members of the Pioneer Association in St Senan’s Church, Enniscorthy at 7.30 p.m.

STORYTELLING
The next session of Storytelling in Castledockrell Hall is on Thursday, November 17, at 8 p.m. There will be a raffle on the night. Teas served. This popular event guarantees a good nights entertainment. Come along and see for yourself.

The next Social in Marshalstown Community Centre takes place on Friday, November 18, with music by the brilliant band Checkers. Doors open 9.30 p.m. Dancing starts 10 p.m. Admission €7 including tea and door prizes.
SOCIAL DANCE
On October 30 a social dance and prize draw was held in Dooley’s Shed, Rathnure in aid of Castledockrell National School. A great night of fun and dance was had by all. There was tea and cake a plenty for those who attended on the night along with numerous door prizes.

On behalf of the staff and students of Castledockrell NS we wish to thank all those who supported our event with a special word of thanks to those who sponsored prizes for the draw and the door prizes on the night. We would also like to thank the many parents and friends who helped on the night with food, decorations, parking and signage, without whom we would not have had such a successful event. Lastly we wish to express our deep appreciation to Paddy Dooley for allowing us to hold the social dance and affording us the great opportunity to raise the amazing sum of €1,615 in aid of our school. We may be a small school but our spirit is mighty.

SCHOOL PROJECT
Folklore and local history material from Counties Wexford, Wicklow and Carlow have been uploaded to the National Folklore Collections free website duchas. ie.
The material is from schools collections which contains folklore material recorded by pupils between 1937 and 1939. It consists of more than half a million pages of handwritten stories and reports noted by some 50,000 primary school children across the 26 counties.
Included in this material are many gems of local interest written by pupils from 11 to 14 years from Castledockrell NS, Marshalstown NS and Monart NS. It gives an interesting insight of the parish in times past and has the names of the children who wrote the stories and their teachers.
