Finding the right cough mixture for your use

- WITH CLAIR WHITTY

THE coughing season has begun, but what cough bottle should you take?

Dry irritating cough: My favourite remedy for dry and irritating coughs is A.Vogel Bronchosan. It contains Norway spruce extract and will help relieve a dry, irritating cough. It’s suitable for children over 12. Combine this with A.Vogel cough spray for rapid relief of an irritating dry cough, especially when you are worried about having a coughing fit in public. Simply spray into the back of the throat for instant relief. It’s suitable for children from 4 years upwards.

Comvita Winter Wellness which contains Marshmallow and Manuka honey will soothe a dry irritating cough. It’s suitable from age two.

Chesty Cough: A.Vogel Ivy Thyme– also known as Bronchoforce–is an age old remedy that is used to treat a chesty or a cough with phlegm or mucus. I have been recommending it for almost twenty years. The Ivy loosens the mucus and will also calm a coughing spasm. The Thyme thins the mucus in the lungs making it easier for the lungs to clear and bring up the phlegm, and helps to throw off any lingering infection. It works well combined with Echinacea to support immunity. It’s suitable for children from age two.

Comvita Winter Wellness, but choose the one that contains Mullein this will help relieve a chesty cough. Mullein is an expectorant which help get mucus and phlegm up of the chest. It’s suitable for children from age two.

Chesty babies, it’s always scary when your child has a cough. You could try New Vistas Chesty Baby drops which are suitable for infants and young children.

Customer testimonials: A customer told me that she had tried every single cough bottle for her chesty cough and the only thing that worked was Beeactive Irish Ivy honey.

Another lady had a recurring cough associated with asthma for which she had tried everything to clear; she was really fed up with it. She tried Herbetom. This is a herbal blend which includes aloe vera, pine, eucalyptus, and plantago. Its properties are anti-inflammatory, anti-biotic, and will help stimulate mucus secretion.

Brewing Carrageen Moss was the solution for my husband’s stubborn cough last year.

Remember to tell us if you are on medication. I hope this information helps you get some relief from your cough.
