Whether it’s the Winter of Discontent or Brexit or even President Trump, there is always something big happening out there in the wider world. But don’t let it distract you from the basic pleasure of having your own hearth to go home to!
JOHN Kearney from Kearney & Co. summarises the current situation if you are thinking of buying or selling in the next few months.
No sooner did we shake off the effects of the crash and just as we appeared to be getting everything organised again, along comes huge uncertainty again in the shape of Mr. Trump. As if Brexit wasn’t bad enough with its corresponding slump in Sterling, now we have these latest shenanigans across the water.
Well the only way to deal with uncertainty is to be decisive!
So, whether you had been thinking of buying or selling, upsizing or downsizing, getting into the Buy to Let market or, indeed, getting out of it, the only rationale is whether the time is right for you.
The events of this year only serve to remind us that there is no such thing as consistent stability; rather, the only constant is change.
Thankfully, here in Wexford, we really don’t have to overly concern ourselves with macro economic developments. The most important decisions are local. Is it a good time for you to buy or to sell? Is it a good time to invest in property or has it recovered enough for you to get out and move on?
These are personal and family decisions only and even President Trump can’t push you one way or the other!
The good news is that the banks are telling us everyday that they are open for business and keen to lend, even if you have to answer a lot more questions than ever before, although in hindsight that is probably not a bad thing.
Then there is the new First Time Buyer grant available now and here at Kearney & Co. we have twenty four new houses at Ard Uisce in Wexford Town that will all qualify for it, if you do.
